Pewter hardtop 3.8L V6 Firebird with the Y87 performance package. The Y87 package consisted of:
Dual-outlet 2.25" exhaust (exactly like stock LS1 catback, but smaller piping/chamber diameter)
Tight-ratio steering rack (14.4:1)
3.42 positraction rear differential (same one used in 6 speed F-bodies)
Bought in 2005 - covered in Jesus stickers, with 85k hard miles from a preacher who drove a Harley. Preacher was also body shop owner and said the first owner of the car bought it to hot-rod it around and traded it into a Ford dealer for a Mustang. First owner (Mr. Mustang) totaled his Ford and then told Mr. Preacher about his wonderful Firebird while his Mustang was at the shop. Mr. Preacher asked what dealer it was at and bought it. Service records show the car had a performance chip that the dealer techs removed because it was still under warranty. Preacher also let me know how he got a ding in the wheel well area - he went really fast in the rain on a freeway onramp, did a 360, and bumped into a piece of rebar sticking out of the ground. I was later able to buff out the rebar paint with some good wax and elbow grease, leaving only a tiny indentation.
Since I bought it, I've been fixing the car and putting pieces on that he broke or forgot to include when I bought the car.
Thanks for everything, Mr. Preacher.
