Default steering wheel control lights?

i have a 98 trans am...my volume control light went out just wondering what light to buy at autozone when i go...and does the control just pop out..dont want to break anything,,,

first of all those bulbs are soldered in, pull the 15a air bag fuse, remove the air bag and you can push the switch out using a screwdriver. Ive had mine out like 10 times now cause I have changed over to blue LED lighting in them. took some trial and error to get the right brightness and even light distribution.

so i have to remove the switch...that sounds fun...so where can i get a bulb or (switch) for the steering wheel controls ..thanks

#20, I just did this as mine went out as well. you don't need to pull the airbag, it might help but I didn't. When you go to put the piece back in, I put the back plastic piece in first, then connected the wire, screwed the circuit board in, and finally put the buttons back on. You'll understand when you see it.

I think that is for a Grand Prix, my 2001 DOES NOT come apart like that at all. the top does not separate from the lower body like that on mine. you must take the air bag out so you can loosen the wiring enough to pop the switch up and out to get at the connector. then the circuit board will only come out the back of the switch.
the 98 must be different than the newer ones I guess
