P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction

I have this code along with a p1657 which is the 1-4 skip shift, but I just installed headers and I'm surprised I'm not setting a code for the rear o2 sensors. One has cut wires and the other is dangling.

I also plugged up part of the egr, but it's not setting a code either. My car is 97 obd2 lt1. Any ideas??

Just by reading it, I'd think the MAF is bad.

no it means it is not working. how does your car run and idle? as far as the codes for o2 just give it a few cycles and you'll have your SES light, it is not always an instant thing.

oh I finally took it to the track... All I got was a 13.8@102. With headers and cai I thought I shoul dhvae been mid 13's around 105. I know I have quite a bit of hesitation up top when it gets warmed up, but it was like that before and I still managed a 13.9 stock. I also got a better 60ft of 2.1, but I thought I would have gained more than 2mph with headers and no exhaust besides the ypipe clamped to the headers

as for the mass air flow code. is there any chance you are running a k&n air filter the circuit malfunction means something is wrong electrically. I ask about the k&n filter because they are a oil based filter. If the filter is not properly oil correctly (normally to much oil) the excess oil tends to gather on the wire or the mass air flow. My suggestion to you it take apart the intake buy yourself a can of crc mass air flow cleaner give the sensor and throttle body a good cleaning. p1657 thats just because of the skip shift elminator. plug it back into trans it goes away thats the only way around that unless you reprogram the computer.
