How to hookup 4L60E trans lines @ transmission???
I have the nut on the trans, a flared line, a white plastic thingy, a red plastic cover, and an "E" clip. How does the trans line go/stay in there? I am thinking that it goes into the nut, the nut is tightened down, holding the line in place, then the white plastic thing is slid over the line/fitting junction, then the "E" clip is installed over the white thing, holding it all together, is this correct? Can anybody shed some light on this for me? I didn't take it out, and I need to figure out how to put it back together, ASAP. Thanks, Shawn

No wrenches are required for this. You dont need to loosen or tighten the nuts (unless you are swapping with another tranny). Push the line in. Install E-clip through slot holes in fitting. Slide white plastic retainer over fitting and E-clip. Slide red plastic disc up to backside of white retainer.

I just went through this last week. You need to put the e-clip in the fitting first, make sure all three tabs on e-clip can be seen inside fitting. Push the cooler line into fitting till is snaps in place. Slide the white plastic ring over the fitting and e-clip to hold everything in place. Make sure you give the line a good yank to make sure the line is in securely.
