VEEEEERY nice lookin' install ya got there. Do you ever post on www.nastyz28.com? I know some of these fools already in this post from there. Someday, I might get to the point of ditching my current set-up in favor of an LS1....the main reason I have been a member here for as long as I have without many posts. Anyways...looks great. Can't wait to see it with fresh paint!

Nice setup, I would like to do the same in my Elky. Where did you get that nice Intake pipe.
What radiator and engine mount brackets did you use.

I'm using a 74 camaro clip in my 59 Suburban. This info is very helpful. Anything you can write regarding the swap is music to my ears. I'm planning on a 5.3 LS with auto tranny. Trying to get my head around as many of the details as possible before I start.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how much would you estimate the conversion to cost doing it all yourself?

HOLY CRAP DUDE!!!!

Why so damn much??? My current project LS1 / 4L60e install parts list is up around $3500 if I need a new crossmember, but without it, (already have a 700r4) then it's more like $3200 or so. What did you pay a shop to do ALL the work ??

How much just for the engine / trans install ?? I guess I should ask how much you paid for the drivetrain for starters to get a better idea of what was spent on labor and parts.

NO SHOP! The price is for the complete project. Motor, tranny, and computer were $5,000. Harness-$895. Monts,headers- about $300. Custom dash with gages-$800. Drive shaft and rear disk brakes-$1,000. Aeromotive fuel pump, filter, regulator, steal braded line, and fittings are not cheap.Approximately $1,000. Not to menchin the shifter I installed, exhaust system, muffler, and all the little things that make the car run better.(IE..Becool radiator- $610., e-brake set up) COMPLETE PROJECT!! I don't do shabby work. When I do a job I do it right from the ground up.

I didn't think your cost sounded too high. More then I wanna spend (cuz I am a cheap bastard ) but definitely worth it IMHO.

Sweet setup! After I finish my '67 I'm going to be getting parts together for my brothers '73 Camaro. I like that the Pacesetters need minimal modifications.

WOW over 12 grand! I guess that's why I only drool over the conversion... I'ts very nice but I'll stick with the old fashioned Pontiac 400 (at least for now ;-) ...hmmm maybe after the kids grow up and move out... ;-)

Which motor mounts? The 2 guys I talked to that used S&P-style mounts needed modified oil pans. The only one I've heard of that didn't need a modified pan used the BRP style mounts.
