399 is to much, even Crutchfield has it for 370 and it can be found cheaper is you search the internet (Amazon, Ebay, places like that). save you some money, buy it online and install it yourself. spec wise it sounds like a fairly solid HU aside from lacking NAV, I personally don't get going through all the trouble to fit a double din that lacks navigation (regardless of how often it's used), get a nice single din for half the cost and save you the hassle that is bypassing the video lockout on a dvd touchscreen HU.

Can this HU be used with the factory bezel or do I need to buy a custom made bezel?

I will never use the NAV in this car....it's soon to be a second car just for weekend good weather race days.

The price....I was just figuring to buy it at the local shop because their deal I think he said was a 2 year warranty. If I have any trouble I pull in and they will swap it out and I'm on my way. If I order online I'll have to mail the HU out and then wait for weeks. That's worth paying the extra $30.00. And it's from Tint World, there's like 10 franchises all over this county, so the warrant is good at any of them.

ANY double din HU will require modding the bezel or buying a premodded one. Unless you mod your own bezel your looking at like another 100+ for a modded one, just not worth it to me, and car audio was my first upgrades when I got my bird.

yes, you just need the standard dash kit (thats like 20 bucks at walmart) to take the 1.5 DIN opening down to 1 DIN, see this link and enter your year/make/model to find which kits will work. http://www.scosche.com/car-audio/shopby?vehicle=1

with the "dash kit" for a 1 DIN radio, the "dash kit" goes in in-place of the factory radio then the 1 DIN aftermarket radio slides into it.

here is a picture of one installed in a camaro http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0008_large.jpg

and here is one in a firebird http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0055_large.jpg (not the best looking one)

and here is one from a sponsor (I believe) but its about the same price as a modded bezel (if you don't mod your own for a double DIN) http://mmg.photobucket.com/albumview...alled.jpg.html (on this one the TRANS AM can be lit up)

Hmmm, none of them so great. What about the $100.00 double DIN bezel that's available for our Firebirds.......will that work perfectly with that double DIN JVC I'm interested in...?

I just want whatever I use to look as factory as possible.

You can also try double d mods. The bezel I got from them looks about as stock as you can get with a double Din head unit.

I have the same JVC head unit in my camaro. For the price you can't go wrong. Very easy to use. It gets the job done. Ive seen this head unit for as low as 250 bucks up to low 300's.
