Default Looking to get my tail lights normal.

The guy I bought this car from mentioned it had a minor accident which caused the replacement of the left rear quarter panel and the tail light to be replaced as well. The quarter panel is great but take a look at my tail lights.

It looks like the driver side light fixture was replaced with some strange non-oem part. I guess the auto body shop he took it to didn't care about making sure the lights matched.

It causes two problems.
  1. Everyone tells me I have a light out on my drivers side.
  2. Moisture is always found inside the reverse light.
So I guess my question is: Can you help tell me what the part # is for the OEM light so I can fix these two problems? Any other suggestions or thoughts?

Maybe the replacement was tinted... I dont think anybody makes aftermarket tails for T/As...

Id try wet sanding it a bit to see if it lightens up. (also, black tinted water)

yeah that's actually common to see. something about the reflective material inside the housing corrudes or flakes off if water leaks in... ??? Not really sure but again i see it EVERYWHERE, and the stranger thing is that it alway seem to be the driver side

I agree with Nemessis350 they probably replaced it with a used or it may have water inside causing the reflective material to peel off.

^Neat. I thought the 98+ Taillights were NOT able to be separated.

Yea, that's what we've all been told. I guess that guy didn't get the memo and figured it out! Turns out you can, but it ain't easy! That write-up is very good.

OP - It's the inside that is the problem just like in that write up. The outside isn't the issue, but a little polishing wouldn't hurt to get rid of some swirls.

Hawks Third Gen has used ones for $150. New is too expensive there. If you want a new one, WS6 store is $299. Search 10431949 for the LH (Driver side) and10431948 for the RH

I hadn't even thought to look around for a fix since I assumed it was a defect from a non-OEM part.
