Will a '01 LS1 starter work on a '03 LQ9?

the ls1 starters work in the truck motors but not the other way around. i tryed to used a truck starter on my camaro and the snout is at more of an angle then then ls1 starters.

That depends on WHICH truck starter you are referring to. I have a 2500HD 6.0 starter on my car

I had the same starter and tried it on my Camaro and it had to much angle and whined real bad I changed to the original one and it went away and I noticed that the snout angle was different
