Looking into getting a 6.0 iron block off texas speed... http://www.texas-speed.com/p-573-gm-...ron-block.aspx and was wanting to make it into a 427 stroker with this kit... http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1018-ts...-assembly.aspx would that work? And if so what would I have to have the block bored to for this setup to work? Thanks

You would have to get the piston size as 4.065 and a 4.100 crankshaft and the iron 6.0 block will take the .065 bore

No it's not going to work, you need a different block or to sleeve that block for 4.125" pistons. The max bore on an iron 6.0L is about 4.070 which will not work with that kit since those pistons are 4.125 bore.

junkyard whole 6.0 motor 600$ > 600$ 6.2 l92/ls3 block

the block will be fine in a 6.065 bore as long as you stay n/a... if you were to buy any kind of power adder id suggest buying a 6.2 block as stated by king nothing.

but what about the crank? the crank in that set the smalles it 4.1 and with a bore of 4.065 or 4.07 that wouldnt work...correct me if im wrong im still learning

Just beware that this kit uses a 4.100 stroke and a 6.125" rod and that is a 1.49 rod ratio and that is as bad as it gets for wear on the cyl walls, piston drag and early on oil consumption, just sayin. 4.00"stroke kits with 6.125 rods have a 1.53 rod ratio and are much better off for longevity.

My tuner has a 613 rwhp ls3 based 427.... Turns 7600rpm and consumes no oil.....

Personally, I would not go bigger than a 4.0" stroke with a 6.0 block. If it were me, I'd go with the tried and true 408 CID (4.030" bore and 4.0" stroke).

I can tell you I love my 408 and have no problem spinning it to 8,000 rpms, the only reason is go bigger would be if the bores were bad enough to NEED taken beyond 4.030" and once you go over a 4.00" stroke you need to start grinding in the block to make room....good option for an all out race car, but not recomended for a street car

Well there's always an exception if you want to go to extremes. How long will his "7600" motor live in a DD? Sub 1.50 rod ratio has the connecting as sideways (right angle to the bore) as it could be, just saying
