V2 will be fine for a stock headed LS1. What are your overall goals for the car?

Largest cam would be the opposite of what you want for a daily driver or a weekend car, not to mention gas prices !! Check out the SEARCH ^^ "EPS CAM" great product & review very positively, don't be affraid of going with larger duration cams as long as you match your Cylinder heads & intake combo + your trans box if your car is an auto A4 ! Good luck with your choice of cam but if tsp tv2 is in your head then look @ the MS3 reviews too !!

I've got about 135k miles on it :/ im planning on breaking the whole motor down in about a month to rebuild it and thought I might as well throw a cam in it, but with the amount of miles I don't know if I should put just a cam, or if I need heads also.

good question! I'm sure there's a lot of us out here that have still never done a cam swap, head swap etc. with our LS1's. Maybe someone can get quasi-technical about why "x" cam will work or why "xx" cam won't. I'm sure it's more than just the lift going past .6?? and the duration being more than what a stock head can flow.

Its all on the goals of your car and your application. My car is on the lighter side, 4.56 gears and the supporting mods for a larger camshaft. so I am running eps 234/246 on a 111lsa. And should run good for my goals. But if your full weight and are not going to be drag racing and all that. a smaller cam will benefit better then a larger top end peaky cam. So OP what are your goals?

i think stock heads dont flow good over .600 lift and either does an ls6 intake. but im not 100% on that. i thought i read it somewhere on here in a sticky, read through stickys

im at work and the filter wont let me view some sections of tech. i think i read about stock heads flow at over .600 lift in a thread about achieving 500 whp n/a.

You will not get 500 rwhp with stock heads.

If everything else in the combo is done really well, and you have heads that were touched by the right person/machine, I'd say you can get damn close.

Here's 500 on a 6.0, a 5.7 would be close behind

I agree, do a search for "EPS" cams. Then Call (not email) Geoff at EPS (site sponsor).
