Do not torque to stock specs!!! Check with FAST. If I remember correctly they are saying to tighten only to where the gaskets are Crushed.. I have seen these Manifolds Crack if you tighten to stock Tq specs.. I usually only go to around 74 # in. Make sure you use the proper Tq sequence.

89in/Ibs maximum is what my FAST 92mm install manual says. you do one pass with 45in/Ibs then the final pass to 89. and there is a Tq sequence as well but i dont have a pdf of this.

camera phone to the rescue:

I just installed a FAST which why I knew the FAST specs are the same as stock in terms of sequence and torque values.

I wasn't trying to bash your info!!! I have installed probably 150 of these and have never torqued them to those specs, And never had one with a vaccum leak!! The Composite is just not nearly as strong on the FAST as it is on the stock intakes. I usually Torque them to a Max of 80 # in.

I had a vacuum leak when I installed the stainless allen bolts supplied with the intake. A week later I swapped back to the stock hex bolts, problem solved. A buddy had the same issue.

yup the reason why you had a leak was the bolts backed out...happened to me too even using red locktite after less than 100 miles they were ~35 in lbs

most have a very low coeff of friction between the aluminum block and stainless hardware...I switched back to stock and the problem was solved...

I would run the stock hardware

i believe that stainless has a lower yield point and therefore stretches. just like if you get ss header bolts. they must be toqued multiple times before they are good. i have he ss locking header bolts and there was no chance they backed off.

Glad I re-read your post!!! I thought you were saying you went back to stock Valley cover bolts!!!! You actually went back to the Black hex bolts supplied by FAST.. The reason I respond is cause we just pulloed a FAST 90 where whomever installed it used stock bolts on the valley cover and CRACKED the **** out of the intake!!!! $1000.00 down the drain for this guy.

Hi everyone,
I'm wanting to buy a FAST LSXR intake manifold for my GM 5.7L LS1, and I'm unsure of everything i'll need.
Right now I figured I need; LSXR 102mm Intake manifold, FAST 102mm throttle body, Fuel rails to suit intake manifold, Fuel rail connector hose and rubber seals for intake manifold and throttle body.
Would someone be able to let me know what else I will need for the install?

Thanks
