If it helps (not a pit), I had my Dobermans ears cropped as a pup. Dobermans are a little harder b/c the ears are taller. Cost me about 400 bucks, which included bloodwork, plus they put him under while they did the crop and gave me all the meds and pain killers. Vet was actually happy b/c I just told him to crop them how he felt. He has done pit's, dobermans, boxers, and great danes, some of which were show dogs. You might give him a call and see if he knows anyone in your area. It's Dr. Sutton at Hometown Vet Clinic in Pfluggerville.

Fyi, to prevent infection I replaced the sutras every week while the vet checked for infections and so on. So it does take care until they heal properly.

Basically, he had antlers for about 2 months and they turned out great. Now he's 100 lbs. and has a mid to show crop.

Dobies are a lil more challenging i agree. i also did laser earcrop on my dobie i rescued. i like the laser better because the hair doesnt grow around the cut area or inthe ear after the surgery. i dropped off my pup the nite before and he stayed till the nextday at 5.

Not a Pit but google Hendrix Harper and/or Tonkawa Kennels - easily the top AmStaff breeder in the state. I have a champion from Mr Harper (will try to take a pic in the morning) and he only let's Dr Gary Lackey in College Station touch his dogs. Surgery took one day, no tape, sticks, or wrapping. Ears stood up immediately and once the stitches were taken out, it looks like he was born with cropped ears.

The vet I use in Fairfield only charges 200 and does a badass job on them. He owns a few bullies too so he seems to take extra care with them. I wouldn't ever pay that much for it. I have used him for all of my dogs.

vandejr, Thats a nice dog. I have a male Gottie/Edge that is built and colored just like that. Purple Rose of Ciro (Google) is Grandfather and Juan Gottie is Grandfather of my male. Ill dig up a picture of him. I love the blue bullies. I have a male and female. They are the best dogs I have ever owned and they just love my kids.

My Presa isn't clipped.

There are times I wish I would have, but also times I'm glad I didn't.

Nonetheless, take him/her to a reputable vet.
