Default Monza Engine Swap

Got a 1975 Chevy Monza Towne Coupe- original 2.3 L 4 banger and 4 speed. Want to make street rod- keep it looking stock with bigger tires and wheels and decent engine. I know where there is a 2007 LU3 4.3 Vortec engine and
4L60E transmission complete lift out with all the bells and whistles including the computer and wiring harness. Would this be a good swap and how hard would it be to do? I know I will need bigger coil springs for the front and can get them and have a pair of the factory V8 engine mount plates that will fit my Monza. Not much of a mechanic- will have to pay someone to do the install but this has been my dream ride for almost 30 years and I want to do it right. Any help would be appreciated- thanks!!! I live in Macon, Georgia.

Depending on your goals, I would go with a 5.3/4l60e. There probably is not that much difference in weight. Iron/iron 4.3 vs iron/aluminum 5.3, If you are getting the 4.3 for next to nothing, I would consider it.

A 4.3 or 5.3 would both be a good swap, since there is fabrication to do, it should not matter much on engine.

Ate you talking about the 4.8l V8 or the 4.3l V6? If you are planning on the V8 I would imagine you won't need the V8 springs. Most swaps I have seen with original iron head / iron block 4 cylinders ended up either staying the same weight or even losing weight. I have a shop in Americus (about an hour south of Macon) and we do LS swaps. I'll shoot you a PM with my contact info. I would be glad to help answer any questions you have.
