Depends on your cubes, heads, gears, stall, and tune.

Going by the specs, I would say it is too big for stock heads, but would be great with ported heads, gears and/or stall, and dyno tuning.

It would be right at home in a DD 383, but run like *** if you just throw it in a stock engine without supporting mods.

I've been running the XFI 280 in my 388 since I built it in 2007 as a DD even with 1.7 Scorpion RR's. As a DD I drive the car year 'round; not garaged during the winter months. Bening in Texas helps with that. PCMFORLESS did the PCM tune too.

I went with the 280 because of the slightly wider LSA which helps smooth out the idle quality. I'm not on the tightish LSA bandwagon.

Anything specific you want to know?

I'd prolly grab Lloyd's cam but a lil more gear than the 3.42 would be nice too.

I've only got a few hundred miles on my xfi280 but so far I like it, mines in a Forged low-comp 6.0 which isn't exactly optimal and it still performs quite well.

Anyone know how this cam would act with a carb? I'm considering "down-sizing" my cam to the XFI 280 from for a more street friendly feel and more bottom end power. It's going in a 10.5:1 406 with AFR 210 comp ported heads. I plan to change my Super Victor over to an RPM Air-gap too.

i was torn on cams as well i ended up with something "different" haha.

With your mods, A cc503 is probably to small for what you want out of it. The ported heads you have would suit a cc306 or GM847 cam alot better then a cc503. The cc503 would work and probably have the best street manners of the 3 i listed, but youd leave power on the table.

Im not a huge huge fan of saying this, but the cc306 would probably be the best choice for you. Alot of people run it with stock heads and its driveable, you having a 355 with ported heads it would probably be one of the best (shelf) cams for you. Or like everyone else has said call up LE and tell him what you got and what you want and get him to do a custom grind for you, or advanced inductions as well.
