Looks correct. Check this links if you need the parts numbers for the other parts associated.

Check out post #8 for the updated valley cover part number used on the 2004 Vette/GTO's. This will allow you to avoid running an external PCV valve. I wish I used it on mine.

Man, this stuff is confusing.

So with the 2004 Vette/GTO valley cover PN 12577927, you don't need an external PCV. That leads me to a few things that I'm unsure about. The LS1howto write up was for the older LS6 valley covers. I haven't found a write up for the 2004 yet. But what seems to be different is just the location of the PCV, right?

So I'm questioning a few things:

1. You still NEED to connect a hose from the 2004 valley outlet tube to the intake. Is that right? (this is where the original PCV was located)

2. You still NEED to run the hose from the passenger side valve cover to the TB. Is that right?

3. It is RECOMMENDED that you still run a crossover hose from passenger side rear valve cover tube to the driver's side rear valve cover tube. Is that right?

4. What is the benefit of having the PCV under the valley cover rather than above the intake/valve cover area (run in the hose connections)? Is it just for a cleaner looking engine bay? Or is there better PCV performance if its under the valley cover?

Thanks in advace!!

1. Yes, it's the hose # I listed in the other thread.

2. Yes

3. No, you can plug the driver side off

4. It's cleaner looking and a better system.

Thanks MM. I'm wondering though, wouldn't the crossover tubing help make sure the air flow goes through the driver's side as well? It seems like it would mainly benefit the passenger side if the driver's side didn't have equal access to incoming air. Maybe I just don't understand the flow pattern in this system

Anyways, do you know what vacuum issues this guy is referring to in post #7:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ley-cover.html

I'm looking to go with a cam, and I am also starting to lean towards heads as well. I need to try to find out what he is referring to.

Thanks

^^I'm not sure what issues he's talking about nor have I heard of that problem before.. I will tell you that I've been running this set-up along with a Rev Xtreme can on my forged H/C set-up for almost 3yrs now.. It's my DD with about 42k on the clock and no problems.

^^ Maybe its because he didn't plan on running the canister with that setup? I don't know. But I'm heading in the same direction you went.

By the way, I took off my valley cover today, and there's nothing to grind on my engine to do the LS6 valley cover swap (its a 2001 Camaro engine). Not sure why some had the area to grind, and some didn't??

Thanks for the info!! Besides the "no-cutting" issue for the valley cover, are there any other benefits of the LS6 block?

EDIT: Nevermind......the search button is my friend LOL

I have an 01 WS6, I had to grind my block off. It was very simple actually. Gotta love Aluminum. I didn't use a dremel, but instead a basic hacksaw and cut close to the edge of the inner block, about a half inch down, and then used a pair of vise grips locked on to break it off. I didn't have my dremel with me at the time, and less chance of metal shards flying everywhere. Much easier to cleanup, but still had to vacuum the hell out of it, also had some soaked rags to help pick up shards. You can actually get a hacksaw in there good enough to make some good cuts.
