What year camaro is that rack from? Did you keep the stock spindles? reason I ask is because I'm trying to figure out how to make my car steer.... I need a rack that works infront of the k member, as well as spindles. i know mustangs work, just looking at different options.

The RX8 diffy is a Mazda Short Pinion, 8" I believe. They are fairly durable, (depending what your plans for the car are) but the ratio choice is very limited. I don't know if it has been done, but I bet the 3.73s mentioned in the post would bolt in to your car...

Motorstilling-
do you still have the stock RX8 front sway bar? can I get you to measure it for me? I'm looking for one that doesn't hit the oil pan for my LS1-RX7, and looking at the RX8 bar it looks to fit the bill... but I haven't found measurements anywhere.

I'll defer to you concerning questions on Mazda diffs, since most of what I know I learned from reading posts from you and Ray, but I believe the carrier shims are the same on the FD and the 8... Would that indicate the -8 runs an 8" ring gear?

Edit: Kaaz lists the same part #s for the FC Turbo, FD and RX8...

meh, I would agree that the RX8 is lacking in the power department...but they aren't that bad.
not sure what that means but...to each their own i suppose.
Purchasing a rotary engine equipped vehicle comes with inherent risks and rigorous maintenance schedules. They are decent engines...just not necessarily a turn-key engine like piston types. I own four RX-7's and three of them run, and run very well. The fourth, was purchased from a teen who played video games an knew nothing about life let alone cars!! This one is receiving the LS transplant!!
Now, I definitely like the idea of the LS engine into the RX8!
the rotary sucks

wow this thread has brought me back from the grave!
I sold my LS1FC rx7 about 2 years ago, its alive and well in L.A. CA, then I bought an STI, sold it and now drive a Civic DD to save $$$ for the incoming baby, but wow man an LS1RX8 would be a great family sportcar! especially with the RX8 prices falling now that so many are approaching 100k miles and certain rotary-doom and out of the extra-ectended 100k warranty.
more pics and more info please'''z'z'z'z'z
